In this workshop, Robert Reeves, author of Introduction to Webcam Astrophotography, will remove the mystery from taking quality deep sky images with a DSLR camera by showing techniques vital to successful DSLR astrophotography, including how to achieve good focus through a telescope. Included will be live demonstrations of how to do quality image processing of DSLR astrophotos, starting with nothing but freeware for the beginner, and progressing to more advanced commercial software as the user's experience grows. Al Nagler
Choosing Your Eyepieces: a Journey with Uncle Al
Haven't you ever wanted to sit down with "Uncle" Al Nagler and pick his brains on eyepiece tradeoffs? Haven't you ever wondered what the difference is between an Orthoscopic and a Plossl, a Radian and a Panoptic, a Nagler and a Ethos? What should I consider when choosing an eyepiece for planetary observing, or deep-sky observing? What eyepiece characteristics should I consider as my eyes age? This is your opportunity for an extended interactive discussion with the man behind the most innovative eyepiece designs in history. This morning-long workshop in a relaxed environment will provide you with the chance to get your questions answered by the man himself.
