Al Nagler
Choosing Your Eyepieces: a Journey with Uncle Al

Haven't you ever wanted to sit down with "Uncle" Al Nagler and pick his brains on eyepiece tradeoffs? Haven't you ever wondered what the difference is between an Orthoscopic and a Plossl, a Radian and a Panoptic, a Nagler and a Ethos? What should I consider when choosing an eyepiece for planetary observing, or deep-sky observing? What eyepiece characteristics should I consider as my eyes age? This is your opportunity for an extended interactive discussion with the man behind the most innovative eyepiece designs in history. This morning-long workshop in a relaxed environment will provide you with the chance to get your questions answered by the man himself.

This is a comprehensive workshop, run by Al Nagler, founder and CEO of Tele Vue Optics to help you choose eyepieces that best match your telescope, eyesight, and observing preferences. Includes an overview on how telescopes and eyepieces work, covering magnification, true field, apparent field, exit pupil, and eye relief. Also guidelines for high and low power observing, and overcoming eyesight limitations. Whatever your experience level, you'll gain a new perspective in optimizing your observing experiences.

Proceeds from this workshop have been donated by Al Nagler to benefit the RAC public outreach program.
